...and so it begins....

This is the start of something new.  An adventure.  A leap into the unknown.

In Summer 2017 I walked away from my career as a teacher because I was trying to be the best wife, mother and teacher I could be but I spent most days feeling that I was failing at all of it.  I am lucky to have an incredible family who supported my decision.

I had also turned 40 and wasn't happy with what I saw in the mirror.  I was tired, unfit and ground down by the never-ending 'to-do' list.  It was time for change both physically, professionally, mentally and emotionally.

I have always loved yoga.  It makes me feel good.  Leaving work allowed me to expand my practice from a weekly class with the fabulous Jo Buchan at Strength and Soul www.strengthandsoul.co.uk to a daily practice and I felt benefits right away.  This is what I wanted to do with my life.

I have also been lucky enough to work with an amazing personal trainer, Christine Murphy at TOD coaching https://en-gb.facebook.com/chrissiepttod/.  She has nurtured me from a place where I genuinely hated the gym to a place where I am currently studying to a personal trainer myself.

On 21 July I fly to Spain where I will complete a 3 week immersive training programme to become a yoga instructor.  I will be posting regular updates here so you can follow my journey.  I am both excited and terrified but as I tell my children, courage is not the absence of fear, it is feeling scared and doing it anyway.

Wish me luck...
