Today is #WorldMenopauseDay. I realise a number of you will now stop reading this post and that's ok... but just remember half of us will go through it and the other half will have to deal with someone going through it!
Lots of people don't like talking about it or thinking about it. But it is the daily reality for many women and there is a real concern at the moment about the shortage of HRT drugs and the possible impact of Brexit (sorry, I've been trying not to mention it!).
I've written about it before because I've been experiencing "peri-menopausal" symptoms. Tiredness, irritability and issues with my periods. I've spoken to so many women in their late 30s and early 40s who are having these symptoms and feel worried, wondering if they're alone.
Trust me...you're not!
Having spoken to my GP, none of the options available from modern medicine sounded appealing to me. So I've been making changes to my diet, using yoga and taking ayurvedic herbs to manage my symptoms and things have improved massively for me.
I'm delighted to talk to anyone who wants to share their experiences. So if you feel like you're losing your mind, hang in there and drop me an email any time.
If there is a lady in your life who seems to be gradually turning into a serial killer for no apparent reason then please try to be patient. She's probably confused and scared and just as impatient and bewildered as you are.
Answers are hard to come by, research is ongoing and everyone is different but I really think that talking about it openly is a good place to start...
