Tonight I was invited along to do yoga with the young swimmers at Livingston and District Dolphins. I worked with their Performance squad who are all in their teens. There was a bit of giggling to start with 😂 however everyone soon started to settle into the flow and we even had a lovely restful savasana.
Tonight’s session was targeted around core strength and balance, areas identified as needing work by their coach. Yoga can also help with breathing, focus and general body awareness in swimmers to help them refine their technique during training.
I will be back to work with the younger squads next week…looking forward to another new challenge!
